We’re pleased to share that Emir Šehanović in collaboration with Ivan Šuković and Dejan Todorović, is part of Terram Intelligere: INTERSTITIUM, presented at Ars Electronica Festival 2026: Negotiating humanity in Linz, Austria.

This year’s Ars Electronica Festival, Negotiating humanity explores how art, science, technology and society can create space for dialogue and different perspectives in times of conflict and uncertainty.

Originally presented as Montenegro’s project at the 19th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale Di Venezia 2025, the project was developed in collaboration with the University of Belgrade, Institute of Molecular Genetics and Genetic Engineering.

The project explores how architecture can learn from microbial living systems and their material potential. Rethinking the međa, a dry-stone boundary in the Montenegrin landscape, as a layered space of contact. Through soil samples, maps, poetic fragments, and native bacteria, the installation brings invisible processes into an architectural experience, inviting new relations and forms of knowledge while encouraging us to reconsider our relationship to architecture and listen more closely to nature and learning from microprocesses.
